Invited Session on Interaction of Software Assurance and Risk Assessment Based Operation of Unmanned Aircraft
The Software Challenges in Aerospace Symposium at Scitech 2018 will be hosting an Invited Session on Software Development Impact and Operation Centric Risk Assessment. This exciting session will address methodologies to account for operation inherent risks within the software development and verification. It is currently discussed, if considering operational limitations and hence reduced risks can be used to relax safety targets for the development of unmanned aircraft. This session focuses on the question how this argument holds for software implementation and verification and, vice versa, how the software influences the risk involved. Topics of this session include but are not limited to:
- Modeling, Assessment and Analysis of UAV Risk
- Software Assurance and Mitigation for UAV Operation
- Geofence and Risk-based Path and Mission Planning
- Accounting for Risks within Guidance Navigation and Control Software Implementation
- Standards and Certification efforts to enable UAV Operation
- Model-based and Formal Verification Techniques and Tools
- The Interplay of Operation Centric Risk Assessment and Classical Software Certification
